Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Corao - Huchuy Qosqo

Departure from Cusco: Travel north by transport. The route passes through the Abra de Corao pass (30 min) and then turns onto a dirt road towards the communities of Patabamba or Sihua.

Start of the Hike: The trail usually begins near Laguna Qoricocha (4,050 m).

Apacheta Pass: An approximately 45-minute ascent to the highest point of the day (4,200 m), with panoramic views of the Vilcanota mountain range.

Pukamarca Community: Descent to this small Andean village for a short rest or lunch.

Puma Punku Canyon: Cross through an impressive canyon that preserves an original section of the paved Qhapaq Ñan (Inca Trail).

Exploration of Huchuy Qosqo: Guided tour of "Little Cusco," a complex with agricultural terraces, stone and adobe buildings, and a large ceremonial center.

Descent to Lamay: A steep, zigzagging descent of approximately 2 hours to the bottom of the Sacred Valley.

Return: Transportation back from Lamay to Cusco (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes).
