Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Perolniyoc - Ñaupa Church

We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and drive for about an hour to the town of Socma in the Sacred Valley. There, you'll have time for any final preparations before beginning the tour.

The hike starts with an approximately one-hour ascent to the Racaypata archaeological site (also known as Perolniyoc ruins), situated at 3,550 meters above sea level.

Along the way, you'll enjoy views of the local communities' daily life and the valley's traditional crops. Upon reaching the archaeological center, your guide will provide a detailed explanation of its historical purpose and significance during Inca times. After the guided exploration, you'll descend to the breathtaking Perolniyoc waterfall, which drops around 100 meters. You'll have ample time to take photos, relax, and even swim in its refreshing, crystal-clear waters.

From there, continue the descent back to Socma, where you'll rejoin the transportation. The vehicle will then take you on a short 25-minute drive to Ñaupa Choqella (also called Ñaupa Iglesia or Choqella), an ancient ceremonial center meaning "the old temple where gold shines." This sacred Inca site was used for offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth), the Apus (mountain spirits), the Sun, and the Moon.

Finally, you'll head back to Cusco, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
